Aye, Liptons was mentioned as one of the brands in that same Allied Suppliers deal in 1982.

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

Where McKellars is in Main Street was at one time Liptons.....they were bought
over by Galbraiths....

I believe that Lipton's was part of a group called Allied Suppliers which also included Gallbraith's Stores. Lipton's store in Campbeltown was a name change only to Gallbraith's as it was still owned by Allied Suppliers. James Gulliver's Argyll Foods took over Allied Suppliers in the early 1980's before it bought the Uk subsidiary of Safeway stores.

He was a director of Manchester United, having bought into the Edwards family shareholding.
