I want my back yard to be a peaceful and idyllic place and I want to be able to share this with others in a controlled and sensitive way. But I want it also to provide opportunity - opportunity to allow families not only to move here and enjoy it, as you have, but for children to grow up and make a living from it. In the past farming, fishing and latterly for a short time forestry provided some opportunity in this regard - we use our environmental assets to our advantage its part of our way of life, our culture.

Absolutely.

Yes Jeanette, the council are involved - although Forestry Commission are the lead agency, the Kintyre Initiative Working Group is a main local consultative body, AIE are also supportive. The Kintyre Marketing Group developed the concept.

I have, as you well know, asked the Kintyre Way organisers for some more detailed information, so that this might be an informed debate. They have written a very nice email in return and are, apparently, going to discuss the request at their meeting tonight.

Sure. In fact, to quote from the letter requesting the information...

Johnnie Walker wrote:If you could please reply to this by means of a response on the Kintyre Community Forum I, and I'm sure many others of all opinions, would very much appreciate it.

... you should have any news of the meeting as soon as I do. :)

Unfortunately not....the site received the following e-mail asking for this to be posted

Mr Cowan - please read our reply in The Courier, this will allow it to be
accessed by a wider audience.

KintyreWay. (Long and Winding Way Co. Ltd)

however, I believe a letter has been sent (by the Kintyre Community Forum Site Admin) to the Courier this week to draw the forum to peoples attention.

A lot of people reading the forum wouldn't have access to the Campbeltown Courier, but are interested.
Some people die at 21 but aren't buried until they are 65.

Yes, have to agree on both counts and I pointed this out in a reply.

The board is read widely - on average over 300 unique visitors each day looking on average at over 10,000 page views!

It has been a good debate this on all fronts.

On knowing about this project through attendance at the KIWG meeting it seems to have been in the making for years now.

People are asking relevant questions, some cannot get to public meetings & has been pointed out some dont get the courier to read it.

I have my own opinions on the walk & i have my opinions on the organisation of the walk, surely if we ask a question we can get an answer, if the organisers are reading this forum, how hard is it to put a reply on? even if it is only an acknowledged response.
