There's an article on For Argyll about the problems with Argyll & Bute Alcohol Drug Partnership, which was led by Cleland Sneddon and now by Christine West who took over from Derek Leslie. There seems to be a lot of misdoing as usual by council and NHS at the cost of the voluntary sector. There seems to be a big issue with methadone being prescribed, what can only be described illegally or unethically. What will the prospective candidates do to deal with this??
Anyone??

One of the members of the local group spoke to me about this a couple of weeks ago and while I can't say I'm up to speed with all the details. If I am elected I am happy to meet with the local group to listen and see if there is a way of taking things forward.

Be interesting to note if the local candidates know about this forum. Would be good if they could acknowledge voters on here. 8)

PS - Cheers John A

A huge thank you to everyone who turned out to vote in yesterday's election. The weather
was pretty awful so I am very grateful to you all. I felt as the day
was progressing that things were going our way but was not prepared for
such a fantastic winning margin. I will be very proud to represent the
SNP in South Kintyre and will work with you all for the good of the
area. Finally I must thank the hard working team of supporters who
worked tirelessly delivering leaflets, canvassing and for being so
supportive to me during the campaign.
