A Campbeltown Man??

Postby Ship called Dignity » Sun Feb 21, 2016 10:57 pm

When is the Campbeltown Courier going to stop using the term "A Campbeltown Man" for someone who has just moved here, committed crimes elsewhere and when it goes to court user his Campbeltown address to describe him as Campbeltown Man? Wee Toon Man!

It's an insult to real Campbeltown men :-) 8)

Remember a few years ago there was an ongoing correspondence between
a member of the public and the Courier editorial team about the same thing.
The member of the public claimed that you had to be born 3rd generation to
be termed a Campbeltown man. A wee bit extreme I think but I do agree with
you, if you were'nt born in the Toon you're not Tooner.
I have lived in Oban for 13 years but am certainly not an Obanite.
