You've got me beaten hands down bubbly  even with your clue.
Obviously 53 years here ain't long enough :!: My best guess would be one of the 2 walks at Dalintober leading to McLeod homes.

Give me 24 hours before I surrender bubbly. I'm heading north to work on Monday so I won't have time to check my office sources.

Keith Crescent

Postby oorly gourlay » Sun Jul 31, 2005 10:41 am

My mole tells me that Keith Street was actually Keith Crescent and was named after ex-Provost Keith. The name must have been given in the town council chambers and never left there although I was told that an actual street sign was placed at the entrance to Fort Argyll Road and it was hauled down by the residents. :D

Any more up your sleeve :?:

Sorry bubbly, I won't see your reply now until Friday,no laptop, at the earliest. I'd hoped that I would have had confirmation by now if my info is correct.

See you at the week-end (next).

Misleading signage

Postby WC1 » Mon Aug 01, 2005 10:54 am

Just picking up on this thread having been away in Edinburgh for a while. There's another bit of misleading signage or rather no signage at all on Kilkerran Road. For years and years (probably since BJ was an egg) there was a sign on the wee white house at the corner of Kilkerran Road and New Quay Street. The sign said, oddly enough, "Kilkerran Road". Then some genius in the Roads department decided that because of the wee triangle in front of the Ardshiel Hotel this shouldn't be Kilkerran Road at all, but part of Kirk Street. Apparently Kilkerran Road is the road NORTH of the wee triangle, where Pensioners' Row is, so the folk who actually have Kilkerran Road addresses on the SOUTH side of the triangle between New Quay Street and the Seafield Hotel don't live in Kilkerran Road at all. This no doubt also came as a surprise to the Royal Mail, whose Postal Addresses directory is quite clear that they do. In the meantime the Roads department have taken the sign down.

Petewick where is Falkirk road

bubbly[/quote]

The Falkirk road is what we call the Princes Street Walk.
In days gone by this was the first leg of an old drovers track to the cattle market in Falkirk.

Petewick :)
