Further to the update above and today's scores the leaders are now

Pos. Name 1st Round 2nd Round Total

1 Andrew Renton 169
2= John Armour 165
2=Arthur Crossan 165
4=Tommy Millar 160
4= Bagel - John Brown 160
6 Burnside Bowlers 159
7 Fiona Gillies 158
8=Carolyn Renton 154
8= DJ McCallum 154
8= Calum McMillan 154

All to play for and lots of people in 140s and 130s. Please note the above does not include the 10pts for the teams progressing - these will be added after Thursday's matches - to add some more spice! Certainly some interesting selections which will see the lead change again no doubt!

Derrick Lang is still bottom on 93 and Paul Watson just ahead of him on 98. Everyone else is through the 100 mark and can I make a special mention to David Wallace who scored his first 10 pointer tonight!!! Well done DW 8)

Can ANYONE who thinks their score is incorrect please get in contact? I've been doing this all manually, by hand, and late at night, and whenever I can so there are mistakes so any help is appreciated. The top 10 above however are correct.

Next Update won't be to Friday as other things on :-)

Small tip for anyone using the excel sheet: If you put 0 in all the empty spaces in the Q "your points" column, it auto totals your score so far.. Then when you collect points for the remaining matches, you just change the 0 if that's not what you got :lol:

Following tonight's results I make it that young Andrew Renton is in the lead with 195 and the Burnside Bowlers second on 188.

However, it is all to play for as it is the teams progressing who will soon mount the points up. 8)

Tonight's result, by the way, means that one of the United States, Uruguay, South Korea or Ghana are guaranteed to be
semi-finalists. :-) Personally I have South Korea meeting the USA in the quarters :-) I know a number of the big guns have teams in the quarters who meet each other in the last 16 :-) :idea: :idea: :idea:

Oh, and aye, Derrick is still bottom on 112 8)

wish I had entered this now! :roll: !

That USA late goal means that instead of England's path to the final being Ghana. Uruguay, Paraguay/Chile/Portugal it is now Germany, Argentina, Spain.....I think anyway.

What a difference!

I was wrong. Radio 5 Live now tells me that England's path to the final would be Germany, Argentina and Brazil.

Radio 5Live also told me they are now back in with a great chance of winning the tournament!

I'm with you on that one 4th gen, assuming the yellow Cowdenbeath don't lose to Portugal and top their group the England/Germany game is in the other half of the draw from them.

I've got Argentina meeting Spain in that particular semi.

not sure what 5 live are looking at.
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

At the end of play on the 24th May 2010 the leader is still Andrew Renton on 202 - closely followed by John Armour on 199 and the Burnside Bowlers on 197

These scores do NOT include the 10 pointers for the teams progressing to the last 16 but I can say there are 5 people who have nailed 9 out of the 12 so far AND none of them are above. 8)

Will give the next league table after tomorrow nights results including the last 16 points - but may be Sunday as I've things on....

God I feel like a school teacher!!!!

Full list of scores including points for the last 16 predictions have been updated and can be found at

http://www.southkintyresportscouncil.co ... scores.pdf

Andrew Renton is leading with 336pts

As I am one of the very few people who chose Germany as the overall winners my chances of winning sit with them. Had South Korea getting to the last 4 after meeting the USA in the Quarters so need Team USA to win tonight.

Overall, lots still to play for as many at the top have teams progressing who either play each other now or have already been knocked out.

Next update will be after these last 16 ties! Good luck and hope you are enjoying it.

Any errors please let me know.

No probs - going to add the additional scores tonight (or perhaps tomorrow) and double check those who have have notified me of discrepancies. Stuart - if you e-mail me through your sheet with your scoring it will be easier to pick up the issue.

Sorry that there are ones - I've done this all manually and sometimes easy to get one wrong or simply mis-count.

I'll ensure that the top entries are checked and someone else checks them too before entering the final stages (Friday onwards)
