Sorry folks for the delay in posting here. I appear to have great difficulty in accessing the forum recently - thought I was banned! :-)

Anyway, the World Cup Predictor that we have ran in recent years is on this year.

Entries can be downloaded at

http://www.campbeltownfootball.com/wc2014/

Paper copies in The Burnside Bar still available. All entries to be in before 9pm Thursday. Regards David

Sorry for lack of updates, been a busy time since the entries came in and busy weekend!

Anyway there is 132 entries - superb! So that means £500 top prize, £50 second and £20 third meaning £750 will be donated to local kids football in the area - to Campbeltown and District Juvenile Football Association. Well done! :-)

There will be an updated league table after each round of first games so a full update on Wednesday.

As of the end of play last night the leading score was 71 - two people on this. Some on 60s but most in 40s and 50s so plenty of time!

Cheers

League table after last night's games can be viewed at

http://www.campbeltownfootball.com/wc20 ... 20June.pdf

There's actually 133 entries. One was handed in that we didn't get so an extra £10 to kids football :-)

There is one blank entry - if anyone wishes to claim it all they have to do is pass their copy of it. (was done electronically so must have a copy :) )

And, that's my predictor goosed already - had Spain!! :)

Updated league table following the last of the final 16 matches and it's all to play for as we have a new leader - but only just!

Interesting to note a number of people in the top 20 can still win the top prize with some chosing Belgium to go through as opposed to Argentina to the semi finals. Even one with Colombia and loads of differnt choice of teams in the final and eventual winners!

Special mention to Ross Gillies in last - what a guy, not even near the 300 mark! :-)

Next update on Sunday after the semi finals :-)

Davie,

Nice as it is to be awarded 65 points for the QFs, I think I've only got five through. I'm sure I put Spain, Italy and Uruguay in the QFs?

Sorry for lack of updates but on holiday - did manage to get league table updates after the quarters into the Comm and Burnside on Sunday. Anyway here is the top 5 after the semi finals:-

1 David Wallace - 444
2 Thomas Don - 437
3 Stewart Blue - 436
4 Garry Skinner - 429
5 Iain Johnston - 428

If Germany win David Wallace will win with Garry Skinner second. If Argentina win Thomas Don will win with Stewart Blue second.
