Album of the year ? photos added

Just bought the new Bonnie Prince Billy album, the letting go, and it has shot to the top of my album of the year list. It's unlikely anything will knock it off unless Sparklehorse come up with something exceptional with their new album next week. You need to have this CD in your collection...honestly.

I've heard "Don't take my sunshine away" from the new album and it's a great teaser. It's always going to be hard to top Good Morning Spider but i'm sure Mark's up to the task. They are playing King Tut's on the 4th of October and I'm going along, so i'll post a wee review.

Got the Bonny Prince Billy album at weekend and on first listens sounds great. Did you manage to get the ltd edition with an extra cds of single releases, demos etc - same great stuffon that too.

Have tickets for Sparklehorse over here in Amsterdam later in October. Also going to see Lambchop with a string orchestra which you should be great as well as Willard Grant Conspiracy. Good month for gigs

Sparklehorse album really rocks...can't wait for Wednesday at King Tut's. Unfortunately I only got the basic Bonnie Prince Billy Album wee toon, is the bonus album etc good? (i'll have to buy another copy)

I have heard a bit of William Whitmore horse and he reminds me of another of my favourites, Tom Waites. Like most talented musicians they get plenty of critical acclaim but very little commercial success.

Sparklehorse at King Tuts

Went to see Sparklehorse at a sold out King Tuts last night and it was magic. The only disappointment was that he only played one song from the new album although he made up for that with some imaginative re-working of old songs. Highlights of the night were a blistering version of "Hammering the cramps" and a singalong encore of "Homecoming Queen" which had the whole place singing as one. Great night out.....The Handsome Family next week.
