Yeah, 4th Gen, I'm surprised at you too! I have to admit you had me going there. But after the buried and hanging meat conversation, you never know what people will put on their plates!

The good owld "Beastie" pit herrs on many a chest, an naw jeest mens eether. Ye could aye tell the lassies that were eatin it as their necklaces pulled oot the herrs when they wir at the Strip the Willow an Eightsome Reels. Christ ye could hear them skrechin half a mile away an greetin that there wid be a big beelin plook there the day efter. Its naw jeest the first mulk fae a coo efter its had a calf. Its the first mulk fae a coo that wis a kway until it had the calf. Then its a coo.
Sometimes there wis a wee tinge tae it that kinna pit ye off a bit, but see when ye had that first moothfa, Shangri bloody La.
Donno where yis ur gettin a the crap aboot flies roon the bucket fae, cos the beastie I aye got wis as clean as any other mulk. Mind you, baith the boss and his good lady wife ran a tight ship an wunna let standards slip jeest cos it wis a first mulk. It wis aye mulked intae a seperate unit and that wis spotless.
Better a good slab oh beastie than an empty belly.
An dont mention coos cleanins 4th Gen. Many a time I got skelped in the kisser wi wan while muckin the byre, an it tended tae pit ye off yir ten o clock tea, thats for sure.

Ach yez are awe a bunch o girls blouses. My Granpa Dewar used tae make the Beastie cheese, and by God ye'd get her han' handed tae ye if ye touched it 'fore him. But I hae nae recollection of the other.

Can somebody enlighten me, or should I just be grateful in my ignorance??

Haggis

Postby Right Pongal » Sun Jan 22, 2006 10:53 pm

Enough O' yer dirty haggis. Awae doon to your local fishmonger and get a pale of salt herrin and 3llb of the best Golden Wonders from the green grocer. If thon Hawaii is half as close to paradise as they say, then there should be anys amount O' the Silver Darlings available for boiling.

As for the Beestie Cheese, Ah kin think O' naethin worse!

There was aye a wee block oh cheddar that found its way to the bottom of the press doon the focsle. It had usually turned blue and sweated profusely by the time you found it. Well, I'd rather trim that and roast it, than tackle thon other fearful stuff!
Don't jeest leave it at yer erse, everything has a place ....................so keep it Pongal!
