Kinloch School was the combined name for Dalintober and Millknowe Schools. Although the two schools were in different parts of the town, I understand that for administrative purpose they were one entity and were known as Kinloch School.

Looks like the letter was signed by Hector MAcNeill, headmaster of Dalintober ( from when I was there )

Hector MacNeill was headmaster of Kinloch School (ie head of both Dalintober and Millknowe) but was based in the Dalintober building. Willie Beveridge was nominally in charge of Millknowe and taught the P7 class there. The plaque in question will probably be at Dalintober.

It was signed by Hector MacNeill, I remember standing in his office and handing him something wrapped in brown paper. What I don't remember is what the thing looked like. I don't suppose for one minute that it has survived all the years but if it has I would love to see it.

Dalintober school has hardly changed since then, contact them and ask if it's still there somewhere. You've nothing to lose. :D
