My brother from Houston just told me of this site. He's a computer program designer-

NASA's "World Wind" http://www.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

You can zoom in any place on Earth!

Stupid question: How do you enable the emotion icons?!

Gus, you do have to download the program. Its well worth it- and FREE. Makes me feel like I'm in one of those spy/ surveillance movies 8) !

Hey, again!

Postby dgraves » Thu May 05, 2005 11:45 pm

It took me 44 min. The program gives specifics about what is required (eg) Pentium 3 or better, etc. Look it over & see. I've only scratched the surface- just been playing with it today. You can pin point buildings!

It's a 180Mb download. Broadband users only I reckon
That would take me about 7 hours with ISDN. Dial-up users forget it.

Perhaps some kind soul with broadband and a burner would stick it on a CD for us mere mortals. :) :)

I accessed through wireless DSL. My brother's coming to visit the end of May. I'll ask him  He's the computer nut.

guys you also need to install the .net framework to run the application.

You can get this from www.microsoft.com

I have 1.5MB ADSL connection so I'll let you know if it's worth a look but it's certainly got me interested...
