Anyone out there know anyone or a business who can terminate a Cat 5 cable with an RJ45 plug at one end and a face plate at the other? (even another RJ45 plug would do)

The resounding silence suggests that either no-one can help or no-one knows what you're talking about!
How much cable do you need betwixt the two RJ45 plugs? I've a couple of 20 metre lengths sat in the spares cupboard if one of them would help. Alternatively I'd recommend someone like Maplin (online) to supply the plugs and crimping tool.

Managed to just get a 50 meter piece of cable with two Rj45 plugs at each end which will do.

There are a couple of shops that do computer bits and pieces but not somewhere you can buy serious hardware etc. There are also a couple of folk flung and about who supply systems but, again, getting just what you want may involve a trip to Braehead.
