FAO Dorian Graves (and any other sentimentalist)

It's October 11, that date makes me smile,
why you may ask? Well, read on a while ...

Today is the day that my youngest was born,
seven years ago, on a cold autumn morn,
so, early this morning I dived in her bed,
and tickled her awake, playing 'spider' on her head,
she jumped up with joy, shouting IS IT TODAY?
I said, "yeah hun that's right, it's your birthday, hurray!"

She screamed with delight at the Barbie's and chocs,
(but then threw them away to play with the box)
then before I knew it, she strolled off to school,
and I smiled to myself, like some proud sentimental fool
my kiddies are gorgeous, I feel I am blessed,
polite, clever and gentle, they're really the best,
then I think of my dad, who is no longer here,
and I recall his laughter, and I shed a tear,
so make the most of your parents, your children, your wife,
see, nothing else matter, for this .. is your life.

Now back to the subject, why "Dorian Graves"?
well, I needed a card for my PS1 saves,
and if you recall in an earlier thread,
I made a request, "Hey, I have one" she said .....
and just one week later, it's here in my hand,
from the US of A, to my home in England,
now that's a great gesture, and it's made my day,
so a big thanks to Dorian ... I'm now off to play!
