Thanks Malky for sharing this - superb!

Was out tonight and for the second time in a week I had something amazing to photo and I didn't have the camera! The sky over Knockscalbert tonight was quite amazing - I wonder if anyone else locally caught any photos?

The people who are selling Beachmore should be using photos like this!

Masterful photography, Malky! Do you have special lenses that you use? The colors are awesome-

Gorgeous sunset, Malky.

Being on the east side we don't get them, although when the sun drop into the cleft of the glen it can be quite nice. We do get nice sunrises though.

Cheers

No special lenses or filters Dorian - this was just point and shoot. The colours were really like that. 8)

TBH we get loads of nice sunsets here and you get a bit blasé about them all. Just occasionally though, you get real crackers like the one above. 8)

Surely not before you've seen the rest of them

Maybe we should keep ours for next month if it's already decided

Here Gary, especially for you and Dorian, a sunset over America that I took from the Western fringes of the bocan nation, about 63.2 miles West of Loch Morar!

Bubbly's right though, I'll need to hang on to the better ones until Malky's splendid shot of St Elmo's Fire has expired!

Very nice. Definitely a rival to Malky.

This isn't in the same league as you two boys but it's a nice enough picture all the same.

It's the lighthouse by Tobermory and was shot last Mid-Summer Night.

All that glitters is not gold Gary. Ballochgair looks all right through rose tinted bochan spectacles with the setting sun floodlighting Arran!

Light Show

Postby Bochan Mor » Fri Oct 14, 2005 12:14 pm

Mind you, the old saying: 'East is East & West is Best' still holds, with the best light shows undoubtedly to be found to the West. Here we were on the heritage trail, seeking out fellow bochans or even bocans in the South Minch.

Yes, Arran can look stunning with the right kind of late afternoon sun on it. I think the film-makers call that time 'The Golden Hour'.
