The lorry was heading north and just opposite the entrance to Beachmore it is thought that two cars overtook the load causing the lorry driver to move towards the nearside and caught the grass verge.

This resulted in the turbine and cradle to detach from the loader and end up in a field. As far as we know nobody was hurt

Met the lorry cab being towed up the road tonight. The tower section was still in the field. There is some sort of floodlights being set up, could be quite difficult to get section removed from field as at this time of year ground will be rather soft for a crane to lift the section on to a lorry.

Didn't get a chance yesterday evening so took these two this morning. It was raining at the time though

Word locally was that they were going to recover this last night, hence the floodlights. The rain must have put them off.

If I'm about when they lift this I'll take a couple more pictures for you Davie  :D

They're apparently going to lift it this afternoon, according to the polis.

Two more photos for you Davie and they're night shots too 8) :D

They show the 2 cranes lifting the section of tower onto a transporter.

The photos were taken about an hour ago and approx. 5 minutes apart.

Cracking photos Malky - much appreciated. I assume the road was shut

I actually got a photo today on my way up the road but none as good as yours!

Thanks again.

You could start a blog up - The Beachmenach Beast or something like that... with all this news you are posting!
