Saw this on another forum...thought some of you might appreciate it :)

How many forum members does it take to change a lightbulb?

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work
best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"

Forgot the :-

1 Who posts a comment that you can't have an opinion on the lightbulb changing, unless you are actually changing the bulb or were brought up in the room being illuminated.

2 Who submit poems loosely based on lightbulb changing, but more concerned with the hypocrasy of changing a bulb when there are people without bulbs in Ethiopia, or the Sudan, or Drumchapel.

or the 1 from Florida who has 364 days of sunshine, and feels the need to criticise everyone else's opinion on lightbulb changing
OOH did they knock down McCaigs folly.....

3. Someone needs to get upset because their cousin is the lightbulb that needs changing, and you wouldn't be saying what you're saying if you weren't hiding behind your User Name.

Equally, all the people who went to The Grammar with the lightbulb fell the need to jump in and defend lightbulb's right to 'blow'

all very clever and entertaining, but where do i fit into this equation?

am i a light bulb? a light bulb changer? a defender of the individuals rights to change light bulbs?

am i against all changes to light bulbs as this is a further sign of how humanity only seeks self illumination? do i want to complain about government and big business changing light bulbs while keeping us in the dark?

do i want scotland to have it's own light bulb, one that we can change when we see fit? should we have a referendum on wether we want to change the light bulb or keep the one we have, although a blind man can see that it's not working?

can i tell a meaningless story about a light bulb i once knew when i was a teen, one that maybe blew under hilarious circumstances, one that wasn't very bright, maybe even dim?

or more to the point, should i go and re-wire my sons bedroom light after he pulled the whole lot down while trying to change a light bulb last night?

You are the one who keeps the forum bulb burning bright even when you are away. Ever hear "the lights are on but nobody's home"?

every time a bill comes in the door, but then i think they're charging me for the street lights too.

as for nobody home? i think i'm more of a "you just never know who is going to open the door" type, sometime i don't even recognise myself!!!!

oh, i sorted that light, i've taken to stating how much jobs like that would cost if you got "a man in" so with call out charges and labour, materials etc, i costed the job at £85, took me two mins, but i had to charge for half an hour, so thats me saved £85 yesterday, i don't need to lift a finger till sunday now!!!!

I know I'll cry until my dying day has come

how many carradalemen does it take to change a lightbulb?

one

one to phone the factor of the flat he is renting at the time to say the bulb doesn't work.

it takes two campbeltown men to then change the bulb.

one, the factor to phone an electrician

and two, the electrician to go and change the bulb.
