To be honest, I don't know. I'm from the north and didn't find anyone particularly more ignorant in the south than people I have met up north or in texas or anywhere else. On the other hand, I haven't been anywhere where the population dazzled me with brilliance either.Ignorance seems to be a world commodity.
The unfortunate thing about this competition is that she is from the south, where there is a stereotype of ignorance, and what she did is probably reinforce that to a lot of people! She did handle herself well in the followup interview though.
