Morals

Postby A Horse called Juan Face » Sun Aug 31, 2008 7:21 pm

I hate having morals. The bus driver gave me $4.90 the other day when I gave him $5 for a bus ticket. The ticket cost $5.10
so he clearly thought I gave him $10. Morals, one of the only things you cant get rid of, the other one is AIDS. AHHAHHAHAAHHAHAHA

Best one I had was in a liquor store in Canada a few years ago.
A guy in front gave the cashier $50 bill, picked up change and left.
I handed over $20 bill and got change of a $50.
As these places are government ran, I said fck all and left.

The clerk probably had to make up the difference out of his own pocket.

Went to fill my automobile with gas $12(well I was in Orlando),gave the guy $50 bill. Now you have to know that they do'nt like anything over $20 bills,at least they did'nt then.He took the $50 with a lot of mumbling and grumbling, and never stopped while I waited for my change.
If he had paid attention instead of moaning he would have noticed that not only did he give me my change $38, but also the original $50 back.Ofcourse I had also got my car filled with petrol,so all in all his day had gone from bad to worse, while I drove away with a smile, like any canny Scot would, tinged with a degree of guilt. :D

During the school holidays last week I was in the school uniform shop getting the necessaries and it was very, very busy. The young girl was a bit hassled and therefore a bit rude. When she told me the total cost I didn't think it was right (as it was too low) but she snapped that it WAS right so I paid. When I got home, I studied my bill and realised she had only included one blazer instead of two, saving me £34. I returned to the shop the next day and when I explained, she burst into tears as the shop had worked out she was short but they didn't know how it had happened. I was happy to pay for what I owed. I have no idea if she would have had to have paid the money herself but she wouldn't have deserved that just because she was under pressure. This has happened to me a couple of times in shops where I've been given too much change but I've always rectified it.

So it looks like it 's only me and Bobbie with morals so far!!!!!

I genuinely believe if you do good things, good things will happen to you. That night I got a phone number from a random guy about getting a job. Not phoned it yet, as I have another interview somewhere else tomorrow, but every little helps. Obviously you can never prove it, but if I hadn't given that money back, would I have got the phone number? Anyway, the whole point of this thread was to do the joke about AIDS. I'm silly.

Sorry Horse I missed the implication in your first post. And I think you're right about good things happening to you too. I remember when I was about nine or ten I stole a handful of sweets from the Pick n' Mix at Woolies and when I came out of the shop I was stung by a bee. It taught me a lesson.
It might have been a joke but it's a good thread.
