As the Saw Doctors song goes "Me Heart is Livin' in the Sixties Still"
I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song

So that's it then,he's naw gan.

That's a slap in the face for the relatives of all the servicemen/women who have been killed in Iraq.

"Prince Harry will not deploy with his regiment to Iraq, the head of the Army has said. General Sir Richard Dannatt said that he had taken the decision in the light of a number of "specific threats" "

I dont think it is, imho there would be more casualties if he did go.

In days of not so old, all the gimps in the Army would have died for their prince, king etc - now they whine like scared puppies '' ooh, it would make it more dangerous'' - twats!

Personally I would have been quite happy to see him go, if he got topped no big deal, everyone on the line to the throne would just move up a place so you wouldnt really have lost anything.
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

I don't think the final decision was all to do with the danger to Prince Harry personally, but the fact that all those around him would be placed in greater danger too. There would be a massive stepping up of attacks just to try and get the prince and the propaganda that would go with killing or capturing him.

So, I think the advantages of letting him serve are vastly outweighed by the disadvantages. I also think that this has all arisen because of the vast amount of publicity in the media. If they had kept quiet about it things may have been different. Saying where he was going in Iraq, what vehicle he would be in etc was just asking for trouble.
