First World War soldiers bound for camp arrive at Campbeltown

May have been posted but just found this link (thanks Colin 8) )

Alex McKinven says "The film was taken by the manager of the new cinema - 'The Wee Pictures' opened in 1913. It was originally shown on an STV programme about all our yesterdays. The soldiers were on exercise and camped on the Showfield - now Smith Drive/Catleacres area of town."

Yes your memory serves you well Davie,though with slightly different scenes.Also some interesting comments from WC1.

Filmed for Randall Burnette, owner of the De Luxe Cinemas in Rothesay and Glasgow, and member of the Board of the Picture House, Campbeltown.

I was positive I seen in somewthere on here Bill - just couldn't find it! 8) Perhaps the Mods could merge these two threads?
