Family and Uncle Hugh "lucky" on the beach and jumping off the dunes just east of the caravan site at Southend. Does this beach have a name?

In 1978 I was planning a visit, (on my own so no pictures :( ) to Coniglen cottage with Aunt Jenny and Uncle Wullie and while speaking to Jenny on the phone I mentioned how great it must be that Wings had "put the Mull of Kintyre on the map". Aunt Jenny replied "Och, it's great for the towrists but it's an awffy dirge" I was just starting out songwriting then but promised that if I ever wrote a song about Coniglen it wouldn't be a dirge and about 15 years later ...

Lovely material, Lonesome Cowboy - pictures, reminisces and music.

The beach with the dunes you mention is called Carskiey.

That certainly appears to be Carskiey, but the beach to the East of the caravan site as Lonesome said is surely Brunerican? :? I take it West was meant?

Good spot EMDEE.

I was going by the pictures, and the perspective of Sanda. From Brunerican Sanda is much closer, and almost at the nearest point to the mainland. Didn't pay attention to the stated 'east' location ;-)

I would point out that he excellent picture of Davaar Island, that appears at 0:35 and 3:06 in the video, is used by the kind permission of Bruce & Linda @ Scotland from the Roadside and I apologise to them again for my error in using their picture without their consent and I thank them for being so gracious about it.

It is unlikely that the Lonesome Cowboy gained financially from the use of that one photo.

Linda's comment looks like a heavy-handed reaction that could have been dealt with via a PM instead of shouting here like this. It makes your business look like bullies, Linda and Bruce.

I know that copyright is important but for people not making any financial gain your reaction was very over the top.
