This is more of an offer rather than hows my training going.

l have entered the Snowdon Marathon on the 25th of Oct and knowing that l won't be able to entice anyone else to enter,l am however offering up to 3 people a lift to Wales and a chance to walk up Snowdon on that weekend.l intend to travel over night on the 23rd(Thursday) and return on the 26th(Sunday).

Feel free to do your own thing over that time, the reason being, it seems a waste of car space to go there and not offer any walkers or anyone interested in the chance to have a bash at Wales highest moutain.

the offers there to think about it anyway.

Take it ye didn't make the Vic on Saturday night?

You played well Campbell, just like you did in the under 17s all these years ago...no, I did not make the Vic...could hardly hobble that night...although, I hear my daughter represented me well enough!

And I'm not right yet....tried to run again tonight but had to turn back from 100 yards over the road...still quite a bit of painful "action" going on in my inner right thigh.......can walk perfectly well with no limp or pain but whenever I try to run it kicks in...so, it was the bike again tonight.....must say, I am beginning to enjoy that very much!

DJD, interesting, very interesting...maybe!

Calderglen 10k trail race

Postby Tom B » Fri Jun 27, 2008 9:52 pm

Took part in the Calderglen 10k trail race tonight - well off my target of 50 mins (ended up around 62 minutes I think) but enjoyed it all the same. Around 250 running, around the trails and paths of Calderglen Park in East Kilbride - 5 striders took part. Very up and down on paths through trees, a bit slippy in places, but no real hazards. Pretty constant rain, but really pleasant running on windy paths through the trees. no excuses - didn't run fast enough - will try harder next time!

We did LSR from Campbeltown up to the Lussa Dam and back this morning, perfect running weather with a nice cool breeze in your face on the way back.

Think l was the weakest link this morning, with Sid and Charlie running strong, although l am feeling stronger with every run.

For the record the distance up to the centre of the dam is 6miles for your future reference.(start was from the Aqua)

It could be a good idea to have a thread on local run's with the distances attached to them.Seeing 4th gen and a few others are good at this sort of thing, lets have someone to start it off.

I ran the Oban 5k today, actually quite enjoyed running that distance, think I prefered it to running a 10k  It was a mainly flat route out to Ganavan and back finishing at the end of Corran Esplanade ..... thankfully it didn't involve running up the hill at the Corran Halls  It was pretty breezy on the way back, not as bad as the Mok, but enough that it slows you down. Think I'll do the 5k in Oban again in September instead of the half marathon

This was the second race I've done this month running without the Garmin (the other was the Vale of Leven 10k). It was good to enjoy a couple of races without worrying about pace and time :)

After an easier month of training since the Mok, I'm hoping to get back to the Tuesday night training sessions ...... is it on for this Tuesday DJD?

Well done iceblue....I am hoping to get back to Tuesday night training as I have had an easier month of training too. It's been good for the body but not for the mind. Wont manage tomorrow night but will aim for next week depending on what DJD has in store.

Still keeping up the LSR on the weekends but down to 3 to 4 miles during the week. . Managed to get home before the rain tonight however i do enjoy running in the rain as it can be quite invigorating.

Hope to catch up with everyone soon. :)

Fiona28 away on holiday for 2 weeks and yes she packed the trainers.

Had a really enjoyable run this morning in the rain with Moi and Frances....we went to the sheep fanks and then continued on up the gradual but steep incline for a further mile ...then headed back to town ....clocking a good 8 miles . Frances then continued on ....to do another further 2 miles.

it was a tough mile from the sheep fanks on and as i had never done it before i commend Islay who was given that leg to do the day of the Jog Scotland relay .......now i know what you were talking about Islay ...I have now christened that bit the 'islay incline' ... :)

Must get the dust off the trainers for next week! I haven't been out since the relay either  Was wishing I had taken my trainers to Budapest last week. We went to Margaret Island for the day which is in the middle of the Danube. It has a track the whole way round the island for joggers......just had to sip cold beer and watch them all running past instead :D

Just getting back at it again now after the football injury and a wee drop in motivation...and a craving for dark chocolate digestive biscuits and ginger snaps!! will need to start nipping my left earlobe again when I get the urge  it WORKS I tell ye

Anyway, am back out most nights now and getting the fitness back, must say, I am enjoying the bike as well and will have to fight the long cycle urges too

Entered the Paisley 10k tonight...31st August in, ehhh ....Paisley!

Saw Jennifer M running toward Southend on Sunday afternoon then when out on my bike later she was still going, in fine style, about 10 miles into her intended 13 mile target...well done Jennifer M :D

Officially kick started my Snowdon marathon training tonight with a 7mile run up Barr Glen and back and incorporated the hill to the right as you go up it,not much to look at due to the low cloud which was a shame.

Tuesday we are up for 12x1minx2min rec, which sounds not to bad.

See you's at 6 o'clock.

We had a blustery 2 hour run this morning which was fine in some areas, other than that it was a good run.It was the usual route up the West road and out to Sound of Kintyre and back down the Moss road and round the back of Stewarton and back to the pool.Covered just under 14.5mile ,thats the first of a good few LSR on the cards for Snowdon.

Tuesday we will be up for a pyramid session thats if the weather is on our side.

Same place and time.
