Training Logs on Internet

I don't know how all the runners on this forum log their training runs, but I have been using Garmin Trianing centre to keep tabs on my runs. Today I found a site, Sport Tracks, that allows you to download all info stored on any of the Garmin Forerunner series, and tabulates and maps it, giving calories used, height loss and gain and pretty much everything else. It's much better than Garmin's own training centre software. If anyone wants to give it a try, it's free, it can be found here

http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

Just remember to save the log each time you exit and that way, imported runs and routes will be saved. If you don't you'll have to import the runs from your Garmin to your PC at each visit.

Robert, is this the Garmin one you use (http://connect.garmin.com/) ?, this is what I use, and I also have the Training centre one too, this one has all these things you talked about, in fact I have run with 1 of the jog leaders who was wearing a heart monitor, and my 405 picked up her heart rate and downloaded it onto my activities page when I loaded my data in.
I,m new to all these gadgets, but this has everything you talked about, and more, are you sure you have the latest Garmin version?

Ninja,

I have the forerunner 205. from what I can see of the link that you gave, there isn't anything available for the 205. Maybe Garmin connect is only for later models?? I can only use Garmins own training centre software, which is not as good as Sport Tracks. I used Motion Based for a while until they wanted money to store more than ten runs on their site!

Thats what it is then Robert, I got the 405 and the new software to go with it and its pretty damn good, similar to what you showed us on the zonefives software.
They seem to be both as good as each other.

I would hazard a guess and say NO, its time to get Stan,s hand into his pocket, you need the 405.

Thanks Ninja--certainly looks to be some piece of kit. More user friendly than the 205, especially with the touch bezel. Doesn't look like a brick tied to your wrist either!

Fiona's in Glasgow for a girls weekend--wonder if I should just buy one, on the fly, and not let on
