Postby Ship called Dignity » Thu Jul 01, 2010 11:51 pm

Thought this may be a good thread given the how nice the beaches are this year. Lets see how many photos of beaches in Kintyre we can get on here. 8)

Bellochantuy looks the best I can ever recall it. Stunning

Thanks Dave, lovely pics. I was up last week and driving home saw that particular sight. I also walked along Westport, Machrihanish, Carskiey, Dunaverty, Brunerican and further round were the mast is at Southend. Boy was it hot round there.

However, it is still on this list. Should something not be done about this?

It's inbetween Tayinloan and Rhunhaorine Point (Grid ref NR694483). A good way to it is to follow the Kintyre Way North from Tayinloan which is convenient for parking.

Yes, alot of work being done to the caravan park too http://www.pointsands.co.uk/

Really adds to the excellent parks in that stretch of 10 miles - Muasdale - http://www.muasdaleholidays.com/ , Killegruer - http://www.kintyreaccommodation.com/car ... /index.htm and Bellochantuy http://www.bellochantuybeach.co.uk/

All with stunning beaches!

On that note, just back from a walk along Machrihanish this afternoon - was simply stunning. For once I forgot the camera!! Sorrry!

As Ship says 'Yes', the entrance is opposite Rhunhaorine School and via Low Dunashery Farm. Not too sure if you're welcome to park there though, can't see what harm it would do outwith the season.
