After last night I'm still trying to remember what i was going to post .

Could have been along the lines of I'll stick to Picaso as I've not won the lottery yet to buy them sophisticated programmes or as like this morning the head to work them. .

Re the last photo from the first selection ..... I am pretty sure that South Drumachro is unoccupied and has been for a number of years. Probably been bits and pieces from across the island deposited there over the years. Sad fact is that rubbish attracts rubbish and one or two pieces quickly become a dozen. No idea who should take responsibility for that kind of thing and costly to shift. What a shame - but as others have said, it's sadly not unique to Gigha

I should imagine, at todays scrap prices, it would be viable to take a vehicle across there and remove the metal. Perhaps a local scrap merchant needs to read this thread.

Alas, even here in the Jewel of the East (Carradale) we have our own shame-hole. Unfortunately, ours makes Gighas appear orderly

Me and the camera went off to town this morning to take pics of the runners, as has become the custom over recent years. Unfortunately, I only got as far as Kildonan. A tree had fallen across the road and the Police in attendance were waiting for the council to come and remove it. I didn't hang about, did a u turn and took the overland route to Tayinloan and from there down to town. I was disappointed, though not at all surprised, to find the races were well underway by the time I arrived. I managed to get some decent enough shots at West Darlochan farm and a few more of the finishers in town, but overall my usual tally was well down. Itching to take more photographs, I took the Learside Road to Southend and got these two panos at Dunaverty.

I will post my race pictures in due course

One of the most frustrating things about postings pictures on forums is the restrictive size allowances. On here you're only seeing a tiny, tiny representaion of my pictures (or for that matter, anyones pictures), not much more than a thumbnail, and the viewer does not get a true appreciation of the image.
