Thanks Johnny for posting all the brilliant photos , I wish I could have been in town for the week of celebrations.
I couldn't see any photos of my '' Uncle '' , couldn't you catch his best side? ( I'm sure that he would have allowed another Engineer on board , if I had been in Town?)

Thank you , once again , for taking the time to post these .

Unfortunately, due to work, I missed the boat leaving Campbeltown for the last time. I visited the boat on Saturday and felt an air of sadness about the last visit.

Has anyone got any photos they can share from today?

Great article in the For Argyll website which captures the events brilliantly

HMS Campbeltowns final farewell today Monday 14th March.

Slowly slipping off her berth at the Nato jetty HMS Campbeltown inched her way astern up the loch accompanied by a small group of boats and tugs to just off the esplanade to were a crowd had gathered to give her a send off for the last time.In return the ship gave a 11 gun salute before making head way out the loch for the last time escorted by the tugs, lifeboat, pilot boat and others. Our last sighting of her passing down beyond the Dhoirlin making her way south to be decommissioned next month.

Fantastic! Thanks for the new pictures Johnny, especially of the parade. Have only just found them. A great reminder of a memorable visit.

Only just found them too Nancie ....brilliant photos indeed JD. :D

I managed to sneak away from work last Monday just in time to see her leave the harbour escorted by the RNLI , it was very moving to watch as she sailed off into the horizon.

Nancie, credit to yourself and all those others who were behind HMS Campbeltown farewell trip , you all done the wee toon proud ,so thank you !
