Request For Photos

Postby vidrazor » Tue Jul 29, 2008 7:35 pm

Hi folks, I would like to make a request for photos of the Mull Of Kintyre. I would like to use them in making a YouTube video.

The reason for this is a song I recently made. I have been taking voice classes for a while, and decided to make an a cappella version of McCartney's famous song as a vocal exercise. It actually turned out to be quite a project, 37 audio track's worth! When I played it for people, everyone mentioned that I should put it out on the 'net. I wasn't quite looking at my experiment in that light, but I figured "why not"?

So a friend came across this site and I thought it would be a good place to make this request. I see many lovely pictures here, but of course I don't want to just take them without your permissions.

So if anyone would like to donate some of your pictures for my little experiment, please let me know. I'm looking for mostly scenics of the countryside and town, stuff that displays the beauty of your area. Ideally they should be at least 1280x1024 resolution so I can make some "pans and scans" as well as some zooms in and out of the images.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and I hope you would like to send me your photos.

I think anyone with suitable photographs etc, will know what you are looking for, but remember there is a distinction between "Kintyre" and "Mull of Kintyre".

Thank you. I wasn't sure if the Mull Of Kintyre has a town in it or not, I will assume that's what you're referring to. But yes, photos of the Mull Of Kintyre. Thanks again for any help with this.

Thank you very much. Another member here has also sent me some wonderful pictures like these. I almost have enough for the video (the song is just under 5 minutes long). Thank you all for your generosity and help.

As long as this site won't mind hosting it, sure. It'll be my pleasure. Hopefully you will all like it! :D I suppose I can find an online storage site that will hold it as well if it can't be hosted here.

One problem with YouTube is that the videos are 320x240 resolution and the audio (as far as I know) is only is mono. This will make my mix a bit difficult (for YouTube). YouTube of course has the potential to give it a lot of exposure, assuming people like (and I suppose even if they don't! )

I will have a higher resolution, stereo audio version, probably as a Quicktime file that I will put somewhere. Thanks again to Alison and jdcarra for allowing me to use your images in my little experiment.

Sure I'll use it in the video!Thank you for that photo. I'll assume that's referring to the lighthouse in the photos posted by jdcarra, correct? Thanks again.

We spend our holidays in 2006 in scotland, one part was a trip with Calmac to Arran - Lochranza- Kintyre.
After the Roundtrip we stay on the Campsite and took a few wunderful pics!
But this was not the first time, i come back to scotland the last 22 years nearly every year....
