The Video Is Up!

Postby vidrazor » Sat Aug 23, 2008 12:07 am

OK, well, I finally finished the video I made of my little a cappella experiment. Hopefully you'll like it. :-) The video can be watch here:

The link above will be to the higher resolution version that YouTube allows, which is somewhat better video quality and stereo audio. You'll need version 9 of Adobe's Flash player in your system, which most of you should have, or can easily update to.

As I mentioned at the YouTube page, I'd like to thank Bonnie Lass, chrisduffy, and jdcarra here at the kintyreforum for sending me their photos to use in this video. Not all the images are of the Mull Of Kintyre, but I wanted something that showed not only the Mull Of Kintyre but the surrounding areas as well.

Hope you all like, and if you do, tell your friends to check it out. Enjoy.

Oops! Apparently the YouTube link-up here isn't working, so just go direct to the hires page here:

If you can't see it you can probably watch the standard YouTube res page here:

I just watched it - absolute magic!!!!!! Well done! The pictures are just superb and the singing is first class. I'll be watching it again - you've created something memorable there.

I love it! Amazing that that is totally without instruments. And you used my pic (the one that says Mull of Kintyre)... I'm honored :)

Oh, btw, I posted it on my bebo page...

Thanks, glad you folks liked it. Tell all your friends about it. While I'm not holding my breath on it, I'd love to get as many hits on it as possible. I'd love to put that up on the YouTube radar screen! :D Sorry I left you out of the credits Bobbie. Thanks again for the picture.

Well done Vidrazor, that's excellent 8)

By the way, as you've seen, you can't embed hi-res vids in the forum. And I would also recommend that everyone watch the hi-res version of this if possible :)

:D Excellent Vidrazor, I have just got back after spending a week up there, at the farm in the middle of your video.
The music is great and I love some of the effects you have on the video, :)
Somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I dont think the actual Mull features on the original McCartney video , so you have the upper hand there,
Thanks for the credit, I am pleased you found them good enough to use!

Just want to make a note that some folks haven't realized I did all those voices! That's why that project took so long. Not that I worked on it every day, but some things were harder than others, like singing Linda's parts.

Historically people criticized Linda's singing, but she got rather good at it by the end of the 70's, and I thought she was rather wonderful on this song. Of course, a tenor singing alto parts was a bit challenging on my part (right at the edge of my falsetto range, to be exact :-D), but I got it done.

The bass part was a bit challenging as well, but I managed. :-) In the end, AI spanned the range of bass, baritone, tenor and alto. So you can see that this was really "just" a voice exercise, which turned into, well, this! :-)

Wow - really good - and I can see now that a performance is unlikely ;-)

Lovely project, vidrazor. I sing in a choir, and we have done quite a few recordings over the years. So I have some sense of how difficult that must have been, doing all the parts (though don't remember too much bass in the original!).

I would offer you a gold medal if this were an Olympic sport
