I'm still not able to get anything on SCD, so haven't been snapping much these last couple of months.

Are the ones I sent you to put on for me to large etc for the Forum?
Or did you forget you had them :D
Spoke to Crowth a few weeks back and he suggested what might be wrong with the files, but haven't tried to do anything since that time.

Hopefully be able to get some stuff in the near future.

Sorry no sunsets for last night or night before, cloud has come over everytime at the last minute and blotted it out.

I managed to drag my carcass around to Ballochroy the other night to seek out the ruins of the farmstead of Kilmichael and to see the standing stones. The visit to Kilmichael was worth it for the wildlife alone - at one point I was being barked at by a deer from the nearby treeline.

Ruins ENE of Ballochroy

Postby Crowth » Sun Jul 17, 2011 5:20 pm

A visitor to Kintyre recently asked about ruins he has heard of near Ballochroy. After exchanging a few PMs we decided they had to be the ones directly east of the Ballochroy standing stones. Marked on the OS map at NR734524, the ruins are in two parts, seperated by 150 metres and a small burn, one section due north of the other. I took advantage of the good weather last Saturday and had a walk up.

Lovely pics Crowth, can't wait to visit those ruins.

After some digging I believe that those are the remains of the Sheilings Talatoll township. (Could be wrong of course). Can't find anything about the people or its demise at present, but sure looks like a clearances remnant to me.
