Last week was a busy one for Kintyre Amateur Swim Club. On Thursday 10th November, a selection of swimmers travelled to Helensburgh to compete in the Scottish Schools Argyll and Bute Trials. Many swimmers produced new personal best times and won medals on the day. Consideration times for the finals were achieved by Rhian McSporran for backstroke, Becky Dott for Freestyle and backstroke and Kirsten McLean and Caitlin Campbell for butterfly.
Sunday 13th November then saw the club hold its annual Club Championships at Aqualibrium with an impressive 39 swimmers taking part.
The first event was an open 200m freestyle which saw Becky Dott finishing in first place with Ruth Semple and Kirsten McLean second and third respectively.
The Championship trophies won by an accumulation of points on the day for backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, freestyle and Individual Medleys were presented as follows:
Girls 9 years and under - Shannyn Charlwood
Boys 9 years and under - Alex Campbell
Girls 10-11 years - Rhian McSporran
Boys 10-11 years - Dhyllon Cox
Girls 12 years - Becky Dott
Boys 12 years - Andrew Kay
Girls 13 years - Kirsten McLean
Girls 14 years and over - Ruth Semple
Boys 14 years and over - Frank Rochford
