Machrihanish Golf Club Charity Open 2007

“Spring” returned with a vengeance last weekend, and the annual Charity Open was played in truly atrocious conditions, with gale force winds and lashing rain making for a decidedly uncomfortable day on the links. Committee members from Macmillan Cancer and Children 1st also braved the conditions, selling raffle tickets throughout the day outside the pro shop. Prize giving and the raffle took place in the evening, and Club Captain Ian McKinnon thanked the ladies from the two charities for their sterling efforts before presenting cheques for £500 each to the charities. Ian also thanked the members and visitors for the fantastic turnout of 125 golfers despite the weather. The winners were:
