I have to get to Campbletown and back in one day from Edinburgh. What would be the best way to do it?

Depends whether you want to minimise travel time or cost.
Who is paying? What time do you need to be in the town?

Would think by road. Involving planes, boats or trains only serve to slow the journey down. Via Stirling is an option worth considering.

I would drive from Edinburgh to Glasgow and park. Take plane from Glasgow to Campbeltown and return the same way. May be a bit more expensive but enjoyable and more relaxing.

IN a quick way it will take 3.5 hours or 4 hours but if you choose to go local such as through train or bus it could take 6 hours.
