David Hayman to perform at Springbank Distillery

Postby Explore Campbeltown » Thu Jan 12, 2017 3:19 pm

We are delighted to announce that Mr David Hayman will return to Campbeltown next month to perform a one man show in the Malt Barns at Springbank Distillery.

David visited the town in May 2016 to do some filming at Springbank which featured in the BBC Two programme Scotch! The Story of Whisky. He enjoyed his visit to Campbeltown so much that he will return to perform ‘The Cause of Thunder’ - a play by Chris Dolan, directed by David Hayman Jr.

The play will take place on Thursday 9th February 2017 in the Malt Barns at Springbank Distillery. Doors open at 7pm and the show will start at 7:30pm.

Adult tickets are priced at £12.50 and Adult Concession tickets are £11.00. Tickets can be purchased from Cadenhead’s Whisky Shop or online at http://www.thundercampbeltown.eventbrite.com. Tickets can also be purchased by emailing mairi@springbank.scot or calling Mairi on 01586 552009.

It's set to be an eventful evening so get your ticket now to avoid disappointment!

Play synopses:

A funny thing happened on the way to the pub… Bob Cunningham thought he saw a man ascend into the sky.

It’s two years after the referendum, and Bob Cunningham has stuff on his mind: whether or not to take early retirement; politics, of course, and what to do about the No vote, Brexit, Corbyn, the refugee crisis… that weird thing about rising into the heavens… and not forgetting the letter from Ethel, his ex-.

It puts him in storytelling mood - Bob’s one of life’s raconteurs - all the while trying to decide what to do about retirement and the onset of old age, and whether his life’s work is done. Is he finished? Can he come to terms with his, and his country’s, past, and future?
