Campbeltown Heritage Trail Group kicks off its guided historic walking tours around the Wee Toon on Wednesday 3 July.
The popular summer tours will run weekly until the end of August. Tours start outside Aqualibrium at 2.00pm and last around an hour. Our knowledgeable guides take guests on a trip through Campbeltown’s historic past, its people and its stories – of which there are many.

Tours are free and there is no need to book. You can see the full list of dates and download one of our leaflets from our website: https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/chord/ca ... qNEXYS25iQ

The tours are run by an independent voluntary group - The Heritage Walks Group - and, the Tourist Office should have been deleted from our traditional advertising feature - we apologise for this oversight on our part. Visitscotland are responsible for the decision to close its Campbeltown Office, and in this we are 100% in agreement with your sentiments. Despite the setback of the disappearance of an important focal point for information, amazingly, the tours have attracted 22 visitors in the first two outing of the season. So, with a little local effort we may overcome the decision to close this important point of contact for visitors. I've always joked that Campbeltown should declare independence from the rest of the country - ironic sentiments since we are continually ignored simply because of geography. What ever happened to inclusiveness!
