For local groups and organisations who want to find out more about Funding support and information:

Argyll and Bute Social Enterprise Network is organising Funding Support and Information Seminars on bahalf of Argyll and Bute Council. These seminars will offer YOU the opportunity to meet with funders, discuss your project ideas,
attend workshops and mingle in the Market Place with the wide variety of local and national
support organisations. An information leaflet is attached is attached AND you can apply on-line, AND it’s FREE, AND a light lunch is provided.

Who Should Attend?
Representatives from youth groups,
community groups, social welfare
groups, arts and culture groups, sporting
groups, senior citizens groups - all
voluntary organisations as well as all
social enterprises.
The event is free of charge and refreshments
and a light buffet will be made
available – but pre-booking is essential.
So, please return your booking form by
24 September 2010. Don’t delay –
book today and avoid disappointment.

Info on Workshops:

Workshop 1—The Big Lottery Fund — BLF staffwill be on hand to present their current funding
programmes, including Investing in Communities,
Awards for All, 2014 Communities and Investing in
Ideas. They will talk through their targeted outcomes
and what they look for in a Stage 1 application.
You will have the opportunity to discuss your
projects and ask any questions in 1-1 sessions with
BLF staff.

Workshop 2—sportscotland The workshop will
provide an overview of the various sports funding
streams available to clubs and community groups.
Workshop 3—Community Right to Buy If you are
interested in your group/community acquiring
land—then this workshop is for you.

Workshop 4—LEADER Programme 2007-2013
What elements make up a good LEADER project?
An introduction as to what the LEADER
programme aims to achieve in rural Argyll by 2013.

Workshop 5—Winning Ways
What makes a good application? What are the
things that turns funders off? This workshop from
Business Gateway will deal will the proven
techniques for increasing the effectiveness of
your funding application.

Workshop 6—Voluntary Arts Scotland
Would you like more people to take part in your
arts/crafts activities? We look at the barriers
which might currently be preventing them from
joining you – and how to pull them down! More
