Postby Kintyre Youth Cafe » Fri Dec 03, 2010 3:12 pm

A Right Blether has come to Kintyre.

If you are under 18, or under 21 if you have been in care, you can vote on some set questions by the Scottish Commissioner for Children & Young People to let him know what he should be doing for you. Takes five minutes tops.

Voting is taking place at Campbeltown Grammar School this week.
For young people not at school you can vote on Wednesday in Campbeltown at:

10am -12pm - Argyll Voluntary Action, Longrow South
12pm - 2pm - KYES, Main Street

Deirdre from the Youth Cafe will be on hand with the voting cards and to answer any questions.

If you cannot make it along but would like to vote, you can vote online at http://www.arightblether.co.uk/

There is also another online consultation being run through Young Scot about Child Poverty -

'Young Scot has teamed up with the Scottish Government to put together this survey to ask young people across Scotland (aged 11 to 18 years old) what they think about the new Child Poverty Strategy for Scotland.

'Poverty' is quite a complicated issue as it is caused by lots of different things. Living in poverty can mean going without the basic necessities in life: nutritious food, warm clothing, decent housing, heating and a good education.
It can also mean missing out on birthday celebrations, school trips and family outings - the sorts of things many families take for granted.

The Strategy is basically how the Scottish Government is going to tackle the issue of child poverty and what they're going to do.

Your views are very important so please let us know what you think.

After you've completed the survey you can enter into a free prize draw to win £50 iTunes vouchers, just by leaving your contact details.'
