Archibald Blieu/Blue & Ireland/Scotland Connection

Hello,

I've been working on genealogy tracing my Grandfather's family (Ballou, from Antigonish Nova Scotia) and just recently hit a dead end when it comes to ancestors in Ireland (Archibald Blieu 1784-1857 Buncrana, Donegal). There is some speculation that the Blieus may have come from Scotland, and one family story relates that when times were tough in Ireland they would travel back to Scotland, and vice versa. I know this is a stretch, but if anybody has any information or knows of any good resources I'd appreciate it greatly if they got in touch.

Thanks!

The Blue surname still exists in the town. Also, there are Blue graves in Brackley, Waterfoot, Killean, Kilkerran Old, Kilkerran New. Also, Blew and Bleu in Kilkerran Old .
You can get more details on these from the Ralston Genealogy website.

Have PM'd you.

There was an author, A. Wylie Blue, who wrote "Campbeltown Yesterday" which was published in 1942.
