Identify this place name in Skipness?

Postby inveryes » Sun Jun 19, 2016 7:59 am

Hi, I'm trying to identify the places on this census from Skipness in 1861 and find where they are.

The first looks something like Gortantellar and the second, Deargalt.

Anyone know what they might be?

There are two places near Skipness with Gortan in their name but none look like Gortantellar.

Second one one is probably Dearg Allt, or deargallt, which loosely translated that means Red Burn (Stream)

By entering a search term you could have details about your location. I think you could do it in better ways so must try it. Here i am going to share this website link with you Scotlands Places!! Must try this and tell me if this was helpful for you.
