Early History of Shannon

Postby MikeShannon » Sat Dec 23, 2017 6:37 pm

Hello! I am tracking down my lineage, and discovered my great x 10 grandfather was John Shannon, 1571-1605. I think his wife may have been Jean, and his son was also John, 1601-1633. I am now stuck trying to find John Sr. parents. Does anyone have any info about these guys? Thanks a ton!

Oops… I had the eldest wrong. It was Robert born in 1571.

I'll try this posting again. "Mike Shannon" posted here looking for a John Shannon(1571-1605) having a son also John(1601-1633).
In my hunt I have a Robert Shannon(b1571) having a son John(b1601), then grandson Robert(b1630).
Too similar?

Good day. I see you have been waiting two years for a reply to your post. I am curious to know if you have learned anything about John Sr. I too am looking for info beyond him. My wife is of the same Shannon line... 12x grandfather I think. I have him and Jr both being born in Scotland but passing in Ireland. I would be interested in our sharing info, though I feel mine is probably pretty sparse.

Cheers.
