Looking for any information on Robert Craig who was listed on 1851 census as farmer Tir Fergus Glen employing 7 farm workers. Born in Kirkbean 1820. Married to Mary McGowan. Two daughters, Agnes and Mary. Recorded death at age 31 25th May 1851. Family names, Craig, Pagan, Gilleson, Majoribanks, Thomson, Jardine. Interested how he died so young and how he came to be farming in Tir Fergus and if any family still exists in the area.

Did you know there's an exposed coal seam at Trifergus farm? The locals would "take" the coal from here. Its mentioned in articles about the Dunlemble and Machrihanish Collieries. And featured last week Feb 2019 in a BBC2 programme.
