I've just been reading "Salt in my Porridge" and "Heather in my Ears" by Angus McVicar of Southend. He was b.1908, the son of the Minister at Southend. He was born in the Manse and he tells of his life with his family here. Does any one know exactly where the Manse was and what the name of what is today presumably simply a house.
Angus' wife was Jean McKerral of Brunerican Farm. The McKerral family had farmed Brunerican over more than a couple of centuries. My Gt Gt Gt Grandfather's sister Margaret McNachtane of Gartvaigh Farm married into the McKerral family here in 1790, so I feel I have a very tenuous link!

Thanks Iain.
That led me to Canmore with an old very good picture.
I can now identify it on Google maps as it is today, almost opposite Southend Church.
