I've always thought that Hayseed Dixie would be sensational in the Vic. I'm not sure it would get much better, for the type of crowd, the type of music they play, and also the fact that they're a bit mental!

They would certainly get my vote.

T.rextasy, or for bill, you could still get manfred mann and brian poole and the tremeloes and still have change out of the price of a return ticket to melbourne

even better, chris McClewer(Christian) and Legend, wee alex will have his phone number, and that of steak and kidley

man walks into a butchers shop "can i have a steak and kidley pie please?"

the butcher says "you just said kidley"

"no i diddley" replies the man!!!

What about the mighty Quo?

(I'm imagining they'll be way TOO expensive, plus they'd probably bring the roof down!)

Fun Loving Criminals?

Suppose it's difficult to know who to suggest when you don't know the budget being worked to.

Get it right General, it's the Manfreds now.....no Manfred. They are on the Dengate Theatre in Northampton 11th of September.

Paul Jones/Mike D'Abo/Tom McGuiness/Mike Vickers, they are one of the few 60'/70s groups who still have the core of the original line up.They always have top class guests appearing as well

Some great suggestions! Many you've mentioned already in our thoughts. The earlier the better as far as bookings are concerned.

Keep them comin'.

Mack.

i like the quo idea, saw them in 77 or 78 at the glasgow appollo, never a fan but they do put on a cracking show, what about paul Mccartney? wouldn't kill him to do a night in the vic, would it? then he could donate his fee to get some other named bands to appear on the friday and sunday, never did get the jist of the survivors night thing, seems its more important than any other night, no matter who is playing, and i'm not meaning this year, that looked like a really good line up.

i'll stick with badger as my choice, its years since i've heard him and i still rate him as having one of the top five voices of all time, only sam cooke and otis redding beat him in my book, plus i'd get to at least play bass for him, or drums, i'd even carry him onstage on my back, just to hear him sing!!!!

Festival Band

Postby Frosty » Fri Aug 31, 2007 1:42 pm

Fish would be fantastic , I agree with Tosh.
Simple Minds , Nazareth , S.A.H.B. could also over good alternatives.
Hopefully I will make it next year. Well done for what looks like another well organised festival your reputation will be getting greater each year , hopefully this will allow you access to the bigger bands.
Cheers
