This previous thread may help:

Willie D wrote:The festival is always the weekend before the Cowal Games - which itself is always the last Saturday of August.

Hi all,

Any details on the lineup for this year? Was gutted to have missed Justin Currie last year. Have googled to try and find out details but only last year's festival comes up in the search results.

Cheers,

Annie

Hi Annie

The Festival committee are currently working on this years line up and we will post up information as soon as we have have it confirmed.

Although we are already working on the line-up we are also open to suggestions, so feel free to post up any ideas for bands this year.

Seen"The Chair" from Orkney, at the Celtic Connections in the Glasgow's ABC at the weekend, what a tremendous band!

Picking up the prestigious Danny Award at the Celtic Connections in 2007 and also named Band of the Year at the Scots Tradional Music Awards in 2008, they would definitely be a great band for headliners for the Saturday night concert!

Also I heard one of the bandmember's is engaged to a local girl from the Campbeltown, so a local connection thrown in there too!!

Are the Red Hot Chilli Pipers playing? The Courier reported that the Picture House would not be a Saturday night venue, and that there would be a double bill (not including the Chilli Pipers) at the Victoria Hall, but the MOKfest site still has them up as potential performers.

Am I missing something? I'd be seriously pissed off if they weren't there.

Sorry, the web site is still showing last year's programme. Things have moved on recently after the disappointment of not being able to have a concert in the Picture House. It seems the electrics need to be upgraded to accommodate our lights etc.

This left us with an almighty headache of what to do for the best. The problem has now been resolved, and, a decision was taken to have a table and chairs event in the Vic on Saturday. There will be three bands/acts during the evening. Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, the wonderful Irish group 'Three Men and a Dog,' plus one other support band.

It has taken some time to resolve the situation, and, the programme will be updated on the web-page within the next few days.

Sorry for the inconvenience; however, unlike many other towns, we still have a festival this year. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy the programme of events.

I will post a message when the web-page is updated.

Once more - sorry for the inconvenience, but it was outwith our control.
