Coincidence that Pop was playing with fire and sending these smoke signals any which way the wind blew and half of Texas burned down? I think not.

Pop! Are you going to take this from him?? No! Stand up like a man! (Warning: Do not try this at home.)

One little teensy weensy question, Pete. Do you think it is wise to comment on the poor man's honkin troosers when your very own name is Reek?

Re: The quay.........................

Postby Ticketty Boo! » Mon Jan 09, 2006 2:24 pm

[quote="Ticketty Boo!"]Happy New Year to one and all.................

Ticketty, Mrs Ticketty and aw the wee Boos paid a visit to Trumpton last weekend for the Bells. A nice quiet weekend was had by all - because the kids weren't allowed in The Glen for the pairty. There is something to be said for midnight on the beach on yer tod - but I'm not sure what it is???

Anyways.......................

The quay is doing a fair resemblance of Annicker's midden. Is this an arts council funded project - or chust a midden? Who's responsibility is it to empty the overflowing oil bin? The Cooncil? There's scrap lying on the pier that was there in July. It's a grade "A" tip!! I appreciate it's a working harbour and am fully supportive of that - but tis a mince and no kidding!

The shore road is not a lot better. Port Righ bay has at least three clatty auld boats adorning it which will never sail again.

Yes, it's a rant from a visitor / outsider. Yes, I expect a load of abuse. But Yes, I love the wee place to bits and maybe it take's the view and opinion of somebody like me who's noticed the deterioration over the years to mention it? Am I in a minority of one?

On the plus side - the war memorial will look great when the bulbs are flowering in Spring and the overgrown paths that have been cleared look much better too.

Ticketty Boo!

Can I presume that apart from one or two, nobody is really bothered about this?

You can say that again Tickety Who, or is that De Ja Vous ?

Mrs Pongal was more worried, along with the rest of the Deacon's Court, over this carry on wae the mattresses. They would never have tweeged, except that 4 of them woke up the morning after your posting wae the bed facing the rising sun.

What's wrong wae that you might ask?

Wan poor auld soul (Not Codger!), whose bedroom faces North West, woke up out on the South East facing patio and damn near frozen to the marra............I've never felt cauld like it.............jeest sheer starvation!!!!
Don't jeest leave it at yer erse, everything has a place ....................so keep it Pongal!

Whit scrap's come over you here? I've yet to see scrap at the quay. The best of fishing gear mothballed maybe, albeit some of it for the long haul. You just never can tell when the auld ring net will come back into vogue. The crechan riddles could do another turn, even if its just for Morenish's prize tatties, and Mr Chimp's Bison doors could be re-fashioned into a new set of heavy gates at either side of the stepping stones.

Naw, waste not, want not!

I've got ye now.................. It's not scrap, it's strategically placed items of deil worship.

The washing machine drum is for collecting the lost souls gathered by Be-elzibub.

The drums of waste oil are in fact the blood that Auld Nick devours wi' his supper (cheaper than a brace o' Bun's rolls!).

The rusting otter boards depict the gates of hell.

The floating rustbuckets are the carriages that await us for the long journey south.

I came up with this lot when I was dancing three times clockwise around the pixie mushroom at dawn this morning. I had some birch bark tied to both ears, a crown made of auld spoot shells and a couple of lythe tied around where my waist used to be to ward aff the white witches.

Is this site getting to me, or is it the other way about?
