The Rat Stane

Can 4 Gen Soothen' tell us a wee bit about the Rat Stane near his ranch.
Maybe 4 Gen and big Blue Stoor could give it a slot on their radio show.

There are a couple of references to this on the KintyreMag website:

Can someone post a picture of it?

Cheers

Friends of mine have moved in to Pennyseoarach last year, I will see if they have, or can take a picture for you, There are a few coins in it, (fertility offerings if the article is right) Maybe they will add up to Pops pound! :D . I will be staying up there in spring and in August as I have for the last 4 years.

Cheers

That's really interesting, I used to keep my horse at Pennyseoarach and must have rode past it a dozen times and didn't even realise it existed!
Thanks for all the pictures and information on this, it's amazing the new things you discover after living most of your life in a place!

Thanks for the comments :)

When my freinds bought the farm, I did a google search and the kintyremag stories that Gary posted the links to came up, a local farmer told them of the exact location, although the coins were a clue! . Last week I bought an OS map of the area and I notice its marked on there

Thanks for posting this Chris - really interesting and a number of people have commented about this and the fact they never knew about it.

What is the best way to get to it?

Can I steal a picture?

I would say the best way would be through Pennyseorach Farm (look at the web link at the bottom of the post) Tell Terry and Lynda I sent ya!

No problem! :) can you lift it from this site or do you want me to e-mail it to you? (I will claim my beer next time i visit   )

out of interest, any one in particular?

Cheers
