Thanks JD, I might avail myself of some fish'n'chips next time 'er-indoors' drags me off to Glasgow shopping...

Aye, the Boy Andrew WK170 and Opportune WK171 still fish out of Wick/Scrabster with the occasional landing into Aberdeen and Peterhead. They are very well kept boats and look as new as when they did when they were first launched.
I am not completely useless............................... I can be used as a bad example!

I was down in the town the other day and took this picture.

It shows the rather sorry state of the old boat yard as it is now. Such a shame to see the old house just left to decay as well.

The ship tied up at the Nato pier is an Estonian navy vessel, the Admiral Pitka.

Was watching Trawlermen on "Dave" the last night and noticed that the pair-trawlers "Ryanwood FR307" and "Castlewood FR216" set a new record (in 2007) for a pair team when they grossed nearly £119,000 for a single trip.

Castlewood was built at the shipyard in 1978 when launched was called Kestrel INS253, not to bad for a 30 year old boat.
