I wandered like a twat
my shoes are brown,
hers climb the stairs, not the lift
in the Factory Shop

Cyperus, lamps of tin
wooden balls perfect fit
like dolls from USSR 1959

Sweater second life,
born again in dog's comfort
once agile, now slides on the stair.
Wool knots too small,
curls like peeled apple skin,
gives up. Legs akimbo.
Whatever gets you thru the night. J Lennon.

Some fine pieces were posted in here. I really miss this splendid thread so can I encourage more posts please?
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

I know I'll cry until my dying day has come

Two quotes come to mind:

'Don't criticise what you can't understand.'
― Bob Dylan

'It's easy to attack and destroy an act of creation. It's a lot more difficult to perform one.'
― Chuck Palahniuk

Happy New Year!! :D

Can we just stick to the threads please? I'd prefer absence to improvement in this particular thread, thank you very much.

That thread (from 5 months ago  ) contained sick jokes that then continued into a thread about child abuse. Let's not go there anymore. It's over, why rake over burnt embers? Back to the thread,

Poem:

For his New Year resolution, Bill will now declare
That on the Kintyre Forum he will truly swear
To not trawl through the threads and posts looking for some proof
Of something more to add that will make him more aloof!

He won't now need to check on things, or continually look back
to find wee things to niggle at, to mock or to attack.
He'll now find things to celebrate and we won't live in fear,
And by doing this he'll find, it will be a better year!

Again, to Bill and everyone on the forum, A Happy New Year! :D

Why thank you LR, not very poetic though. Better would be

From my eye, a glint
No, it's not a squint,
As I duly print
That this was mint!
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

To stop this thread going down the pan,
Let`s all be aware of"meter"and"scan".

I've always been frantic, and even pedantic,
In an effort to make my words scan,
And I don't think I'll change in my style or approach,
If I really and possibly can,
Though my efforts to comprehend modern verse,
Are a trifle reluctant at best,
It would be delightful, but possibly frightful,
To try it and give it a test.
Merda taurorum animas conturbit. Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum videtur
