I won't say what the op. was but I'll leave a clue below. I don't think it was very successful. Might need to go back .

Mr Jock, it is very important that you continue to drink plenty of clear, non-diuretic fluids, and keep yourself warm.

Ensure that you consume plenty of anti-oxidant rich foods and carry on with the pelvic floor routines that I demonstrated yesterday afternoon.

PS. Watch that you don't wash the oil out of your feathers by bathing in water above 25 degrees C.
Dr Snod Esq.

Two spoonfulls of Halibut-Liver Oil, Morning & Evening. You know the surgery hours, so don't bother me at any other time. I most certainly don't get paid enough.

Any resemblance to Snoddy's past and present are purely coincidental!

don't think much of snoddys advice, but then i never did.

Hey Ozzy, do you remember the Alamo? Just to jog your memory, that is where you relieved yourself at one of San Antonio's revered places and got banned from the city for 10. So you don't commit the same mistake in Campbeltown, don't do it on the Cross or the pubs

Bluebottle

Postby Sanyanya » Sun Mar 19, 2006 12:14 am

What a joy to see & hear the first bluebottle of spring. I even let her fly freely around the salted beef and ling that I have hanging from the tent pole for 14 minutes, before tedium forced me to swat the brute in amongst the embers. I suppose it's that time of year again when all the undesirables present themselves at the surface, be it the compost heap, kitchen worktop or expansive ocean.

The old horse gets fair excited at this time of year, knowing full well that the harness will certainly be donned for the first ploughing match of the season. Eat you heart out Morenish, as the real horsepower takes to the fields, with seagulls hard on his heels, ready to take the unsuspecting worms from the soft clay soil.

What the devil is Ozzy O. doing back in the village. I was quite sure that his last run-in at the end of a pitch fork was enough to ensure his repulsion of this sleepy little village. Mind you, I still make return journeys when the weather suits!!!!

Ahead of the michty michty Hugh Trowsers' return to Kintyre next weekend, at the Royal Hotel in the Toon, can I point out that the entire band have stopped drinking and all offers of pints of Belhaven. Miller or Guinness should be directed towards the management, who'll be the short fat bloke trying to flog t-shirts.

Bochans especially welcome, as long as they bring their purses...

PESTS of The West

Postby Right Pongal » Sun Mar 19, 2006 11:26 am

Aye Sanyanya,

The Spring was aye the time of year that the pests of the west would make their entrance for the coming season. Mudges, scalders, bluebottles, Glesga Keilties, Irish antique dealers, old men wae nobbly knees in shorts & open-toed sandals (Despite the sleet) and 'Onion Johnnies'.

And there we go wae the auld Kintyre Oxymorons again: 'Bochan's Purses'. Aye, reminisent of Scotch Mist, the poor manager my die of a druth that could leave his tongue like a sun-dried megrim.

Another of the village boats has been offered for sale on the open market, and her being kept 'Right Pongal', speculation is rife of a bidding war amongst the skippers of a dredger fleet further North, all of whom are aspiring to self employment. Who'll get their hands on one of the last of the Girvan ringers?
Don't jeest leave it at yer erse, everything has a place ....................so keep it Pongal!

Bochans' purses

Postby MartinKielty » Sun Mar 19, 2006 5:24 pm

The best trick the Devil played, it is said, is persuading the world at large he doesn't exist. Similarly with bochans' purses, and tabs at the Glen. These items are available in more quantity then their owners would have you believe.

And the very thought of being left to die dry in Kintyre... And it would kill off the tourist trade in minutes, nezpa? Look on it as an investment...
