Hi all,
the ground at the meadows is sodden. Meet at the Ferry Terminal 10:30 if it is not blowing a gale or raining cats and dogs. We shall just do a wee bit of endurance. Hopefully the weather will be kinder.

Thanks

Hi All,

I know the weather ( up here) is a bit dire and I don't expect many to be there (Ferry Terminal), but I am going ahead with the session for how and as long as it is sensible with my kids. Doing something is better than nothing even if its just for 20 minutes or so.

Thanks.

Well done to all that took part in the indoor athletics yesterday and we hope you did yourself proud.

As the club is getting a wee bit popular, we are going to draw up a set of rules, a code of conduct, parental involvement and limit the number of places available per instructor/coach

We are not taking anyone interested in joining the club until after the March xcountry that will be organised by the CRC. This will give us the chance to take a deep breath and have everything in order for, come that date.

For those that have been told by either myself or Fiona Graham will be allowed to join this weekend only.

Sorry for this but it is in the best interest and the proper way forward for the club to get us really established and secure our future as a Junior running club

Thanks

Hi All,

Firstly I would to thank the MACC group for allowing us to run at Machrihanish MoD site.

Can we meet just inside the site at the entrance nearest to the Sound of Kintyre village, where I shall meet and escort all in a convoy style to the start point and again when we leave. Please be there for 10:15am sharp.

Hope the weather is on our side, rain we can handle but not the wind and if there is it will be a "February Flyer"

Here is the route http://gb.mapometer.com/running/route_3789324.html

Any problems please ask Fiona or Sarah or myself. See you all Sunday.

Hi All,

We would like to give a big thankyou to the MACC group for allowing us the privilege of running at the old air base, which is known to many.

It was a cracker of beat your clock run today in the "February Flyer", plenty of puddles to splash in, fairly good running conditions, considering what was being forecast for today.

Well done to all that ran, it was good to have a good little crowd of mums and dads and spectators, great to see and very good to have your support.

Hi all,

The junior training session for the summer are as follows

Sunday 10:30am - 12:00am. Venue The Meadows

Tuesday 18:30pm - 19:30pm. Venue The Meadows ( Ability group ) meet at the Swimming pool as the usual.

Friday 17:30pm - 18:30pm. Venue The Grammar School.

We would like to thank the Head Teacher for allowing us to use the field facility, as we work towards the Sports competition being held up at Lochgilphead on the 14th June 2014.

Not that you need reminding, but for those that were not at the school last Friday, we would emphasise that we are guests at the school, so please respect the place, take all empty drinks bottles and place them in the bin provided if you have used one, and do not touch anything that is situated around the place. Thank you.

The second handicap race will be on us shortly, we will soon be putting up the details, so in the meantime work hard and enjoy your running.

Thankyou

Hi all,

There is a Rally on at the MACC (old Mod) on the 5th/6th of July. They are looking for Marshals to help them out over the two days. It would be good for some Mums and Dads of the club to help out, as they were kind enough to allow us to use their facility for running.

There are some great perks for helping, free entrance, food and more so the rally it's self and the odd other things. For more info on the day, please contact Jennifer Martin.

It would be a nice gesture.

We intend to hold the Junior Club Championship over certain distances for various age groups at the meadows on the 9th August 2014 and hopefully every year after that.

The reason is to create a history and to recognise members performances for that year and record all times and pbs on a separate record page on our junior clubs web site

The Rugby club are holding their fete on that day and they have kindly allowed us to use the facilities that will be open on that day.

The races are open to anyone attending the fete outside of the club, all they have to do is register their name and age at the registration point and say which races they would like to enter. The registration point will be a tent near the track. In return they will get a accurate time as possible and a have a bit of fun as well.

Further details will follow.

Hi All,

The 4th handicap race is looming 18th of August at Westport beach, and details will be put up sometime next week.

Now for Club matters

We have decided to do a review of the number of club members and all the club attendances just after the handicap race. It is felt that there is a number of members that have either left or do not attend as agreed by the rules of the club.

This will release the places that are not being used, and which are now available, due to the facts mentioned in the above statement.

We did expect a drop in the numbers over the year due to many things and that is why we are going to implement this review, as mentioned. This we think will suit all in the club, as well as for the juniors that are on waiting list. This will be done every year now and in the future or when it indicates the drop in numbers and we have a waiting list available.

Advanced notice

Next years subscriptions will be £10.00. Out of that £10.00, £7.00 of it goes to Scottish Athletics (This year we subsidised it by £3.00 per member)

The remaining £3.00 will help towards future cost if needed.

We do try and keep the cost as low as possible and considering training is virtually on all year round, it is not a bad deal.

Campbeltown Junior Running Club.
