Aye Tickety Boo! Sounds like a role reversal of the old Mr Carradale competition organised by The Carradale Spinsters back in the late seventies/early eighties.

Ah! The Carradale Spinsters! Now that was some team! They never had weemin like thon anywhere else in Kintyre/Scotland/The World! Never mind the dammt Spice Girls, get The Spinsters oot o' retirement for Murrayfield or even better The Wellpark. That would be a thing!

Well Gary, unfortunately I have always had an intolerance towards liquid absorption, but I have to tell you the smell was braw! Reminded me of the halcyon days in the Cruban when Mint and Moudie would serve up Guinness and Blackcurrant Ice Drinks (made with Walls Cornish Ice Cream and garnished with a wee sprig of heather) to cool the boys down on a hot summer's day.

Don't ask!

Postby Snoddy » Tue Jun 14, 2005 2:44 pm

I've been working with a group of doctors from the A&B along with Craig Dunain and Gartnaval Royal on this problem for some time, but we're no further ahead!
Dr Snod Esq.

Two spoonfulls of Halibut-Liver Oil, Morning & Evening. You know the surgery hours, so don't bother me at any other time. I most certainly don't get paid enough.

Any resemblance to Snoddy's past and present are purely coincidental!

Watching

Postby Sanyanya » Tue Jun 14, 2005 4:08 pm

Watch out Gary, knowing old Snoddery, he's probably got his sights set on you as well. He'll be building a case as we speak:

'This man thinks he's a goat professor!'

'He converses with creatures called Bochans, Heidless Horsemen, Bubbly Jocks; Scouders; Slants; Wetmen..... the list goes on....

'He moved to Carradale from Tobermory'

'He moved to Tobermory in the first Place!'

Aye, your liberty is as much in danger as the rest of us droll yins. Next time you see the helicopter, make a dive for under Dippen Bridge. It should be OK, if Bobbly Juck can be believed!

Swimming's for the fishes and the duckies, thanks. I'll be happier if I keep the hull of a boat betwixt me and the wet stuff, thanks.

I might be persuaded to take a dip in that new pool they're building down in Campbeltown though, so long as they heat the water.

Cheers

electricity

Postby bubbly jock » Thu Jun 16, 2005 11:28 am

Hello the Dale

Bubbly here gobbling fae Soothen. Busy the day 'course it's Thursday. I'm doon here to learn some of this vernacular that seems to have broken oot like a rash from the byre.

You're all very quiet up that way. Are you all in shock? or maybe you've all been electrocuted.

I heard a wee story that you're all getting electric card meters put in the wheel house and that there's an illicit charger hidden in Airds wid.

Mind you it's sad right enough generations of fishermen raping the sea and now you're putting her in the electric chair because she's no longer a virgin. All for some money and a few spoot.

Is that where you're hiding Bochan Mor oot on a boat??

Aye bubbly, there's a gap in the spoot market following the raid. I've borrowed a snorkel to get round the regulations. It's amazing what you'll find around the shallows, spoots, clams, oysters; they're all there. The boys on the East Coast will be in a strong position to fill the gap though, with their superior vessels & kit.

The battery isn't as effective as I'd hoped. I think I might need to tap into a submarine cable to make a right job of it.

Plenty of prawns on the go, but I cann't get enough Latvians into the punt to clear the heap from the top rail.

Who's this that Morenish is talking about, Pew Pew Barley McGrew, is this a veiled reference to the Trumpton fire brigade? What aboot Cuthbert Dibble & Grub? You canna leave any of them out, they can be sensitive souls you know.

Aye the whirliebird took a lot of feeding. It ate that much bread that it could hardly get off the ground. Mystery still surrounds who threw out the first crumbs. No doubt there will be those who will deny any connection and those that will make a point of claiming the moral high ground.

There's aye the whelks if all else fails, but it's a damnedable row back from Machrie, my palms are all blistered and my backs in stroichs!

Sleep

Postby Sanyanya » Fri Jun 17, 2005 12:15 am

What are ye thinking aboot sleep for Gary. What ever you do, don't go to sleep. The Crofters, never mind the Bochans, will blecken yer face wae soot fae the chimney!

NO, you'll naw do sleeping at all, especially at this time of year. Efter all, its a waste of good daylight. Think of the coal you could shift from one bunker to another, or the spoots you could gether at low tide. There's no Govt agents creeping aboot in the dark. Naw, they work office hours, with a lunch hour in between, and with this new flexi-time, as soon as their 40 hours are up, you've a better chance of finding them down the pub.

What ever you do though, dinna touch the oysters. They're a damn curse, especially when there's no 'R' in the month. God knows what or who'll come on ye! Could be damn nearly a Dettol in the teacup mush!!!

Besides, I jeest bet that you get more peace to get on wae yer work at this time of night than ye dae through the day.

Anyway, I'll bid ye good night, I'm off tae ma bed..........

And don't worry aboot me, ma face coona be any blecker.
